Paramount Styles is the brainchild of former Girls Against Boys member Scott McCloud. McCloud’s influence stretches back further than that band though. His Dischord label punk group Soulside was one of the more important bands in D.C. hardcore.
Other than a Touch & Go Anniversary show in 2006, Girls Against Boys are now dormant and McCloud has moved on to the much more stripped down Paramount Styles. On drums is fellow G vs B and Soulside member Alexis Fleisig. Guns N Roses’ Richard Fortus also contributed to the debut album “Failure American Style.”
